Paseo del Espolón is the main pedestrian street in Burgos, connecting the Arch of Santa Maria to the Main Theater. Its history dates back to the end of the 18th century, and it owes its appearance mainly to the reconstruction carried out in the 19th century. Along the promenade there are rows of acacia, lime trees, plane trees and Japanese pearl trees. There is also a bust of the painter Marcelian Santamaría by Félix Alonso González.
