Vila de Gracia Square is a small, tree-lined square with a clock tower. Located in the Gracia district, north of Eixample. It is surrounded by colorful houses that look like transferred from a Spanish province. The square has many restaurants and cafes. It is also a place of cultural events during which sardana is danced together or live towers are set up from people.
Gracia was a separate village near Barcelona until the 19th century. And Vila de Gracia Square was its main square. Today the social and cultural life of the district is focused here. Its surroundings have preserved the charm of a small Catalan town. Many students and intellectuals currently live here. There are also many craft workshops. The square and its surroundings are also famous for live music performed by street bands.
