Casa del Guarda is a small building located just at the main entrance to the Park Güell in Barcelona. It was designed by Antoni Gaudi, served as the park guard's house. Today, it houses the headquarters of the museum, whose exhibition shows the next stages of designing and creating the park. A characteristic feature is the roof covered with colorful mosaic.
The Barcelona Historical Museum (MUHBA) has prepared interesting multimedia materials and films for visitors. In addition to the exhibition, guests can admire the interior of the house up close. In the past, there was a kitchen and utility rooms on the ground floor, and living rooms on the first floor.
The Guard House was built in 1901-1903 and served its original function until the early 1920s. Renovation work was carried out in 1996 and 2009, after which the building was opened to tourists.
