A 16th-century fortress, which together with the Santa Cruz Castle and San Diego formed a strategic network of fortifications. Their task was to defend the city. In 1949, the castle was entered on the UNESCO list, and in 1994 it was declared a cultural heritage. It houses an archaeological and historical museum.
