The open-air museum in the village of Przybylina in the north of Slovakia is a branch of the Liptov Museum in Ruzomberok. It was opened in 1991 and collects folk architecture from the Liptov area, mainly from the flooded area during the construction of the Liptowska Mara dam.
Most of the buildings are reconstructions composed of original elements from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The most interesting exhibits are the early Gothic church. Virgin Mary from the village of Liptovska Mara and a Gothic-Renaissance castle from the village of Parížovice. The museum also has a wooden inn, which was used during the filming of the film "Bathory", numerous residential and farm buildings in which the everyday life of the village inhabitants is presented.
Cyclical folklore events take place in the open-air museum. Horses of the Hutsul breed are also bred. In the summer, visitors can learn about various craft techniques (weaving, basket weaving) and take part in workshops organized by the school of folk crafts.
