The Košice Zoo is the third largest zoo in Europe and the largest in Slovakia. Several thousand animals belonging to 142 species live here on 288 hectares. The garden focuses primarily on breeding animals from the Carpathian region, but you can also see exotic species here. On its territory there is a botanical educational trail.
The Zoological Garden in Košice was opened in 1986. He has many breeding successes. In 2002, bear cubs born in the Guinness Book of Records were born here. There is also the largest bird aviary in Slovakia, in which, among others, learn to fly captive eagles. Hutsul ponies are also bred in Košice.
