Church of Saint. Of the Trinity is the most valuable baroque object in Slovak Kosice, modeled on the famous Roman Il Gesu. There is an illusionist painting dated 1786, created by Erazm Schrott. Baroque pulpit, benches and several paintings in the side altars are also extremely valuable. The founder of the church, Princess Žofia Báthory and her son Franciszek I are buried in the local crypt.
This place is associated with the famous martyrs of the seventeenth century - Mark Križin, Melicher Grodecký and Štefan Pongrác, who were killed in 1619 by soldiers of Jerzy I Rakoczy. In 1681 a Jesuit church stood here, and next to the nuns erected a school and in this way the first University of Košice was established, which at that time was the second university in the whole country. For this reason, the temple is also called the university church.
