Demanovska Ice Cave

Demänovská Ice Cave is one of the most visited Slovak caves. It is located on the slopes of the Low Tatras in Demänovská dolina. It is famous for its beautiful ice formations in the form of stalactites, stalagmites and floor ice.

This is one of the earliest mentioned caves in the world. Documents from the 13th century speak about it. It has been available to tourists since the 1880s. There is a 540 meter tourist route. This is roughly a quarter of the known cave corridors.

During the tour, tourists pass through subsequent chambers, where they can admire pagoda-shaped stalactites, ice overhangs and floors, and icefall. The cave is illuminated, thanks to which the ice formations managed to bring out all their beauty.
