Golden Sands Lake

Zlate Piesky is a small lake in the suburbs of Bratislava. In the summer it is used as a popular swimming pool. There are beaches, water equipment rentals, camping, sports fields and several restaurants.

The lake is about 1 km long and 400 meters wide. In the deepest place it does not exceed 30 meters. In its southern part there is a small, forested island. The banks are planted with trees. There are also places for sunbathing.

At the beginning of the 21st century, a large shopping center was built near the lake. There are also restaurants and bars. In the summer season, especially on weekends the lake is crowded. This is one of the favorite resting places of the inhabitants of Bratislava.
