The nature park covers the area of the Vrancea Mountains in the Eastern Carpathians. It has a variety of habitats, including deciduous and coniferous forests, canyons, pastures, valleys, and streams and rivers that form picturesque waterfalls.
There are, among others, in the park wild boars, deer, wolves, letters, otters, lynxes and brown bears. You can meet many species of birds here, as well as lizards, newts, salamanders and vipers. Due to the latter, care should be taken, especially when walking in grassy areas.
You can walk in the park only on specially designated routes. They are of different length and degree of difficulty. It takes about an hour to cover the shortest routes, but the longest route should take at least two or three days.
