Huet Square is one of the three squares located in the historic part of Sibiu, fortified already in the 12th century. The remains of the original fortifications of that time can still be seen during a visit to the square. One of the towers is built into the city's oldest inn, Butoiul de Aur.
The largest building, which currently stands at Huet Square, is the monumental Evangelical church from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries. Its tower is 73 meters high, and its top offers a panoramic view of the entire city of Sibiu. There is also the former Brukenthal high school and the monument of Georg Teutsch, Archbishop of the Evangelical Church of Transylvania in the 1860s and 1870s.
