It is the oldest and largest botanical garden in Romania - it was established in 1856. The garden is divided into 10 sections for visitors and 2 additional research sections. Here you can see Romanian flora from 6 geographical areas: Moldova, Transylvania, Dobruja, Oltenia, Muntenia and Banat.
The following sections are plants from different parts of the world, arranged according to the characteristic landscape conditions. Decorative and useful plants also grow here, used in industries such as food, textiles and pharmaceuticals. In turn, in the greenhouse complex, you can see 2,500 species from tropical, subtropical and equatorial regions.
An interesting fact is the rose garden with 600 varieties of roses, including species bred in Romania itself, and the unique Memorial Section. Plants associated with and identified with various stages of human life and mythology grow there.
