Cinciș Lake is one of the largest reservoirs in Transylvania. It is 4.8 km long and 1.8 km wide. Its average depth is 30 m, but at the deepest point it reaches 48 m. On the northern shore there are sandy beaches, camping sites and guesthouses, and along the southern shore there are forests and hills.
The average water temperature in summer is 18 ° C. You can swim, rent boats and canoes, and go fishing. There are carps, pike, crucian carp, grass carp and zander in the lake.
The lake was established in 1964 as a result of the construction of a dam. Water then flooded the valley with five villages. When the water level is low, you can see the ruins of an old church from the second half of the 14th century protruding above the water surface.
