The defensive Evangelical church in Hărman was built in the 13th century on the site of an older Romanesque temple, most probably from the 12th century. The church was fortified in the 15th century. It is surrounded by three belts of defensive walls - the outside is 4.5 meters high, and the internal ones are up to 12 meters high.
The interior of the church is eclectic and has a variety of styles, reflecting the frequent remodeling of the temple. Attention is drawn to the monumental series of frescoes, formerly covering the entire interior of the temple, currently visible only fragmentarily on the walls of the nave. It is also worth seeing the late Gothic main portal on the west side of the building.
A 32-meter belfry adjoins the church. It houses a 16th-century clock with a single hand that shows not only the time but also the date.
