The Village Museum in Baia Mare is divided into two parts. The first is a series of exhibitions located inside the building, and the second is an open-air museum. The collection includes over 11,000 exhibits and 50 historic buildings from rural areas in various parts of the country.
The exhibitions housed in the museum building showcase ethnographic collections and folk art. Here you can see traditional work tools, weaving products, clothes and jewelry. It is worth paying attention to furniture, everyday objects and ceramics. Most of them come from four ethnographic regions: Lăpuș, Chioar, Maramures and Northern Romania.
In the outer part, you can see traditional houses, the interiors of which faithfully reflect the realities of the time, as well as farm buildings - stables, cowsheds, pigsties and pens for birds.
