Cais des Colunas is a fragment of the Tagus waterfront located in the neighborhood of Praca do Comercio, one of the most important squares of the city. There are stairs leading to the water ended with two marble columns.
In the past, Praca do Comercio was called the Gate of Lisbon. It was here on Cais des Colunas that there was a harbor where boats and ships nailed. Here, the most important guests visiting Lisbon made their first steps ashore. White marble stairs lead from the marina to the square. The waterfront offers a nice view of the river and columns embedded in its bottom. It is a popular place to rest.
