The Museum of Design and Fashion is located on Rua Augusta, in the former headquarters of one of the banks. It shows the changes that have taken place in fashion and design from the 1930s to modern times. Furniture, everyday objects, accessories and, above all, clothes are presented here.
The museum called MUDE for short, which can also be translated as "change" is an institution that shows how much the world has changed in the last almost a hundred years. You can trace the changes that affected objects surrounding people in everyday life. Further styles in design juxtaposed together show the interpenetration of influences and trends.
The main exhibition is devoted to fashion. The works of such masters as Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gautier and John Galliano have been gathered here. There are also examples of designs made by Corbusier. In addition to fashion and design accompanying people in everyday life, items related to industrial design are also presented.
