Campo Grande Garden is the largest garden in the center of Lisbon. It covers an area of 11.1 hectares; has a 2.7 km circumference. It is primarily a botanical garden, rich in rare plants. It is a huge green area with designated picnic areas, playgrounds, sports facilities, a restaurant and even a shopping center. The main attraction of the garden is the lake, where tourists can rent boats.
The garden has the most diverse botanical specimens, some quite rare, others unique, such as palm trees from the Canary Islands, eucalyptus, figs, pepper trees and paper mulberry. You can also see many rare species of sparrows or decoys. Monuments of King Afonso Henriques and King Joao I were placed in the alleys of the Campo Grande Garden. Next to them you can see a statue of humorist Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro.
