It is the main museum of modern and contemporary art in Portugal. In its collections, the museum has exhibits presenting the most important artistic movements from the 20th century to modern times. You can admire the works of Picasso, Dali, Warhol, Bacon, Duchamp, Judd, Miro, Sherman or even Neuman.
The permanent exhibition is on the second floor of the museum. It is devoted to currents in painting of the first half of the 20th century such as surrealism, dadaism and cubism. On the first floor, on the other hand, there is an exhibition dedicated to artistic movements of the second half of the 20th century. The most important artistic movements from this section, such as conceptualism, Arte Povera, neo-avant-garde, land art and minimalism can be admired in chronological order. In addition to permanent exhibitions, there are also 3 temporary exhibitions.
The museum offers a rich program of activities for schools, universities, companies, families and groups with special educational needs.
