Local name: Arco da Vila

The historic, neoclassical portal was made in the early nineteenth century by the Italian architect Francesco Saverio Fabri. It was placed in one of the medieval city gates leading to the Old Town. It is crowned with a statue of St. Thomas Aquinas.
