Faro Municipal Museum

The museum is located in the building of the former monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It is a charming, 16th century building with greenery in an arcaded courtyard. Most of the museum exhibition are items from Roman times found during excavations in and around Faro. But there are also Moorish objects and medieval religious paintings and sculptures.
