Castle of Castro Laboreiro

The castle stands on an isolated hill, 1033 m above sea level, in a mountainous environment. Its beginnings date back to the 9th century, and it was expanded in the 12th century during the reign of Alfonso Henry. To this day it has survived in a state of ruin. The oval of the defensive walls and the remains of the tower have survived.
