Hill in Slowinski National Park with a 20 m high lookout tower. Rowron's name is translated as a combination of two words - trenches and rounds. They refer to a small square on top of a hill surrounded by a ditch and a shaft. In pagan times it was a place of worship of the Slovenian tribe. Elevating the 115-meter-high hill from the Middle Ages served as a lighthouse.
At the top of Rowola Hill were found animal bones and remains of the hearth. It may have been in pre-Slavic times that there were fires here to indicate the sailors. At the turn of the twelfth and thirteenth century, at the site of a pagan cult, a chapel was erected. Nicholas, patron sailors. There was a miraculous image of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The chapel was demolished during the Reformation.
There are many legends associated with Rowokol. One of the most popular tells the story of the bells, which during the demolition of the chapel of Sts. Nicholas flew into the Łupawa River. There are so many whirlpools here that the bathing end is drowning. According to another legend on the hill is hidden great pirate treasure.
