The unusual Wroclaw path is a piece of urban history passing underfoot during a walk along the wide passage between Zasolek Ossolinskich and the church of St. Vincent. This specific calendar of history consists of 19 plates made of bronze and integrated into the surface of the pavement. Each of the plates was equipped with a relief with a date and graphics commemorating one of the historical events.
The composition was designed by a native Wroclawian, sculptor, prof. Hanna Jelonek from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. The journey through history begins with a replica of the clock from the Wroclaw Town Hall, indicating the symbolic passage of time. Another event on the route is the establishment of a Wroclaw bishopric in 1000.
On the way to the last act, the flood of the millennium in 1997, many political, social and random events were commemorated, such as the plague epidemic in 1633 or the establishment of the University of Wrocław in 1702. Lovers of the history of Poland and Wroclaw in particular have the opportunity here to refresh their knowledge and learn new facts shaping the fate of the inhabitants.
