The museum's expositions present important documentation of the life in Lower-Silesian villages from the 17th century to modern times. The exhibitions consist of furniture, glass paintings, sculptures, devotional graphics, and everyday objects such as Lower-Silesian mob caps, decorational hives and many more. The museum also presents the technical culture and handicraft. The expositions give some idea of the design of huts and workshops, agriculture, and folk traditions which examples are presented on seasonal exhibitions of Easter and Chrismas decorations.
The collection consists of about 12 thousand display units illustrating several hundred years of the life of the rural population, their traditions, lifestyle, and clothing. The large part of the collection was donated by collectors and many items came from former regional Lower-Silesian museums. Thanks to the original items, a visit in the museum gives an opportunity to learn about the developments of technics and regional craft, and turbulent social processes demonstrated by the examples of specific persons, families, and households.Less
