The Neo-Evangelical Evangelical Church in the middle of the New Market Square since 1989 is owned by the Tumult Foundation, which occupies the premises of the facility. There is also a Tumult cinema, which invites film screenings and exhibitions.
The building was built in 1824 on the basis of the project of the outstanding German architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel in the place where former town hall was located. The town hall system also corresponds to the plan of the existing building. Remains of the former historic site are well preserved gothic underground. The town hall, which had been demolished years ago after the Protestants lost their church. Jacob was transformed into a Protestant church for the newcomer's municipality. The new, existing object was used by Protestants until 1842, and in 1927-1945 it functioned as the Orthodox Church.
