The District Museum in Tarnow, headquartered in Tarnów with its headquarters in Tarnów, collects various collections related to the history and culture of the inhabitants of the city and its surroundings. It is divided into several branches, located in different parts of Malopolska and touching different aspects of Tarnów's history.
The Tarnów Regional Museum started its activity in 1927. Since then, the museum's collections grew, as did the number of buildings under it. Right now, the museum has 9 separate smaller institutions.
In the town hall there is a gallery of old art (especially paintings). In addition to the Town Hall, the Regional Museum also includes the castle in Dębno, which is an interior museum, the historic mansion in Doleze, the home of the eminent painter Felicia Curyłowa in Zalipie, Ethnographic Museum, Wincenty Witos Museum in Wierzchosławice, museum in Koryznówka, dedicated to Jan Matejko, "Panorama" gallery in Tarnów The railway station, as well as the House of Remembrance of the Home Army.
