Historical Museum of the City of Tarnobrzeg
Local name: Muzeum Historyczne Miasta Tarnobrzega
The Museum refers to the collector's tradition of the Tarnowski family, who in the years 1834-1944 in the castle in Dzikowo collected paintings, libraries and archives. In the museum you can see, among others. The Miniature Cabinet and paintings from the Dzikowska Collection (works by Juliusz and Wojciech Kossak, Rembrandt, van Dycka and Canaletta). Visitors can also visit the cellars, where there is an exhibition of archaeological monuments and Miechocine ceramics.
The building is a castle complex dating from the 15th century. In 2011 it was adapted for the needs of the museum. Renovations have been subjected to basements and attic.
Previously the headquarters of the museum was formerly the granary of the court. At present, in the granary there is the Museum of Polish Sulfur Industry.
