Palenica - 722 m

Palenica is a mountain in the Lesser Pieniny towering over Szczawnica. It can be accessed by the chairlift situated in the center of the spa. A journey to the top gives an opportunity to admire beautiful views of the area and, during good weather, also the Tatras. A ski resort with two tracks operates on the slopes in winter.

Palenica's height amounts to 772 m. It has very steep slopes from the side of Szczawnica. The blue track, which leads through the ridge of the Lesser Pieniny, goes through the summit. Apart from the chairlift, Palenica can be accessed by the steep yellow track.

Private refuge Groń and the small shepherd’s hut which sells cheese can be found on the top. Another attraction is the alpine slide. During winter, the slopes of Palenica and neighboring Szafranówka are used by skiers.
