Church of Christ the King

Local name: Kościół Chrystusa Króla

The church had been built in the years 1788-1792 in the place of the former Gothic building. In 1881, a tower dominating the city centre was added to the temple. The tower has a large dial clock and is illuminated at night.

The internal architecture of the temple is characteristic. In the Church of Christ the King in Świnoujście there are antique pipe organs from 1803. A suspended wooden model of the corvette from 1814 is placed under the ceiling. Nowadays, a presbytery adjoins the church.

Roman Catholic parish church of Christ the King is located at the Church square in the city centre, on the island of Usedom. It is the oldest church in the left-bank part of the city. Initially this temple had been Protestant. It has been only after the World War II when it was adapted for the needs of the Roman Catholic parish.

Yearly, during the summer season, on Saturday evenings in the Church of Christ the King take place periodically Świnoujście Organ Evenings.
