Sopot Museum

Permanent and temporary exhibitions installed in the Museum of Sopot present the story of this city, shown in old photographs and postcards. The history of Sopot can be learnt by watching also the works of art collected in the museum, as well as handicrafts made by the former inhabitants of Sopot.

The Museum of Sopot is located in the restored Claaszen's villa (built in 1903). The choice of the museum headquarters wasn't accidental - Ernst August Claaszen was a collector of antiques and works of art, who loved the history of the Tricity. The villa itself is a valuable hisotrical treasure and a great example of middle-class interiors from years ago.

In the Sopot museum, postcards and photographs showing the former appearance of Sopot have been collected and properly displayed. The museum collection includes also works of art (various types of paintings: watercolours, lithographs, oil paintings).
