The fountain of Jasło Rybak unveiled in 1998 is one of the most recognizable fountains in Sopot. It is almost a 2.5 meter sculpture of a young man with a basket full of fish on his head. The fountain symbolizes the hard work of fishermen living in the Baltic Sea.
Jasło Fisherman's Fountain is undoubtedly a very popular tourist attraction. After 12 years of existence of the fountain, it was dismantled and replaced by a modern installation. However, the fountain is adorned with a sculpture depicting a fisherman. The new fountain is 3.5 m wide and 30 m long. It was built of stone and decorated with a tasteful teak finish.
The figure of a man with a basket of fish is a faithful copy of a sculpture located at one of the houses at Dworcowa Street in Sopot. The original statue is smaller and is currently located in the City Hall (another copy is placed on its place).
