Orthodox church of St. Archangel Michael in Sokołowsko is an orthodox parish temple. It is located in the Sudety range of Suchy Mountains. In its history it performed various functions. The contemporary furnishings of this intimate church are icons and polychromes. There is also an icon writing studio and a small gallery.
The temple was built in the years 1899 - 1901 by the Brotherhood of St. Vladimir. It was created for patients visiting these sites. During World War II, the equipment of the church of St. Archangel Michael was taken away. He was never found. For some time after the war, the church even served as a morgue. In the 1980s, the building served as a summer house. In 1996, thanks to the efforts of the Orthodox parish of St. Cyril and Methodius in Wroclaw and the "Renovabis" Foundation in Freising has restored the original function of the building. The temple was bought, a general renovation was made and it was equipped with icons and polychromes.Less
