Sieradz Ethnographic Park

Local name: Sieradzki Park Etnograficzny

The Sieradzki Ethnographic Park is an open-air museum, which is located next to the Castle Hill in Sieradz. This is a branch of the District Museum in Sieradz. Within the open-air museum are the Weaver's House from Zgierz; Szczepan Mucha's house and its sculptures; Countryside farm with Chałupa from Sieradz-Męki, Stodoła from the village of Ruda and the Wooden Granary.

The Sieradz Ethnographic Park was founded in the early 1980s. The first object was the Weaver's House from Zgierz, where administration and warehouses are located. In the years 1986–1987 the farm of sculptor Szczepan Mucha from the village of Szale was rebuilt. The artist's sculptures are also presented here.

The reconstructed rural farm houses buildings from different places, but they are composed in a system specific to the Sieradz region. The farm consists of: a cottage from Sieradz-Męki from the second half of the nineteenth century, a barn from the village of Ruda from the twentieth century, a wooden granary from Brąszewice Zabrodzie and a shed with a coach house from the village of Wiertelaki from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
