Technology Museum of Old-Polish Industrial Region

Local name: Muzeum Techniki Zagłębia Staropolskiego

The museum is a well preserved 19th century mill and pudling mill complex. There are, among others, an 8 meter water wheel and a variety of machines used in the plant. Many of them date back to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The establishment is located in a beautiful area, surrounded by forests and ponds, not far from the Sielpi lagoon.

The plant in Sielpi was founded on the initiative of Stanisław Staszic and Ksawery Drucki-Lubecki in the first half of the 19th century. It operated until 1922, and in 1932 it was dedicated to museums. It is one of the best preserved industrial estates of the Staropolski Basin. There are 30 complete machines used in the former rolling mill and pudling mill. Some of them are still running and are being run during special shows and outdoor events.

Next to the mill is a millstone dating back to the 16th century with a hammer connected to it. It worked in the slaughterhouse operating in Sielpi.
