Podwale Dolne

Podwale Dolne is located between the Old Town Hill and St. James Castle in Sandomierz. It is a street with no traffic intended only for pedestrians and cyclists for whom a bicycle path has been prepared. The Podwale Dolne promenade is a road that connects the Old Town with the Piszczele Park.

The street was thoroughly renovated in the early 21st century. during the renovation, its surfaces were replaced, resting places with benches were arranged and numerous flower beds were made. Trees were also planted that were supposed to shade the promenade over time. In the middle of the route, near the intersection with the Saint James Gorge, there is a small square. A cannon model was erected here, and flowerbeds were placed in baskets with stones that had previously shielded buildings against fire. It is a reference to the purpose of this area in the past as an artillery position.
