Oleśnicki Family tenement house

Local name: Kamienica Oleśnickich

Oleśnicki Family tenement house is considered one of the most beautiful residential buildings in Sandomierz. It consists of the original 18th-century vaults. Its cellars are one of the destinations of the underground tourist trail.

The building was probably built in the second half of the 16th century. According to the local tradition, the Sandomierz Agreement between Lutherans, Arians, and Calvinists was reached here in 1570. The building was destroyed by fire around 1770 and then purchased and rebuilt in the present shape by the Oleśnicki Family.

It's a picturesque, corner tenement house with rich arcades topped by the Baroque attic with stone vases. Windows on the first floor are divided by pilasters and gentle panels.
