Needle's Eye

Local name: Ucho Igielne

The ear of Igielne is the most interesting and most photographed monuments of Sandomierz. Tapered to the ground, the former Dominican navy is one of the symbols of the city, as well as an important crossing between the Old Town and the Church of St. James outside the city walls.

Once in the defensive walls of Sandomierz there were two gates, through which communication was possible after the gates were closed. Only one of them has survived to this day. It is a former Dominican navy, called because of its tapered shape at the bottom, the Bell's Feet. It is located on the western side of the Old Town, in a preserved fragment of the ramparts. Today is primarily a great outdoor photo shoot, for both tourists and honeymooners. He leads the saint outside the walls of St. James' Canyon and the church under the same call. You can also walk to Piszczele Park.
