Church of St. Michael the Archangel

The Church of St. Michael the Archangel is Baroque pearl of Sandomierz. Built for the Benedictine monastery, it now serves as the seminary church of the Higher Seminary. It is located outside the Old Town. Its facade and pilaster facade attract the eyes of everyone who enters the city.
The church was built at the end of the 17th century for the Benedictine monastery located here. It is a baroque, single nave building, consisting of the nave and the presbytery. The walls of the temple are divided by bright pilasters crowned with Ionic capitals. Inside the baroque side altars, stained-glass scenes of the holy hermit life and the pulpit decorated with the genealogical tree of the Benedictine Order. The main altar burned down in 1966 and only the tabernacle was restored. After the abolition of the Benedictine Order, the church of St. Michael was dedicated in 1903 to the Higher Spiritual Seminary. Today serves primarily the internal purposes of this facility.
