Czartoryski Park
Local name: Park Czartoryskich
Located inside:
Czartoryski Palace Museum
The palace park in Puławy is located around the Czartoryski Palace, on the Vistula river. It has been successively revitalized for dozen or so years. Its assets, next to the beautiful tree stand, are perfectly preserved objects of small garden architecture from the beginning of the 19th century.
The 40-hectare park was founded in Puławy in the 18th century. Originally it was a regular park, over the years transformed into a French garden. At the beginning of the 19th century, thanks to Izabela Czartoryska, it was reorganized into a fashionable romantic park in the English style. Within it, garden pavilions and recreational facilities were built. The most important of them is the Gothic House, the Temple of Sibyl and the Yellow House. At the edge of the park a classicist church dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built. From the beginning of the 21st century, the park is being renovated. Its large part has already regained its former glory, becoming a popular place for recreation.Less
