The baroque church rises within the market square, near the Pszczyna castle. It is open to visitors. Being here, it is worth paying attention to the late Baroque main altar from the 18th century, beautiful 19th century stained glass windows and the late Baroque, two-storey wooden choir. The church hosts numerous concerts, mainly organ concerts and performances as part of the "Musica da Chiesa" Chamber Music Festival.
The temple was built in the middle of the Eighteenth century on the site of an earlier medieval church that burned down during the fires of the city in 1545 and 1622. Until 1630, the building belonged to Protestants. After it was regained by Catholics, Jesuits from Krakow looked after it for several years.
The church is oriented. A chapel from 1692 with a crypt and a sacristy built in 1931 adjoin the chancel from the north, and a second, newer chapel from the south. Members of the Promnitz family rest in the basement of the crypt.
