Regional Museum

The museum is located in the former private Museum of Folk Art of Walentyna and Maria Dermacka. After the death of Walentyna in 1998, the museum collection was looked after by her daughter Maria. The collection is the main attraction of the museum in the charming Masurian city of Piecki.

The main part of the exhibition consists of figures and figural scenes sculpted in clay which are glazed, polychromed, or baked. They were made by world renown author of folk art from Medynia Głogowska - Władysława Prucnal. Apart from that, there are works by other folk artists such as paintings and wood sculptures, and also manuscripts and documents of Walentyna Dermacka.

This unique on a national scale private collection is a result of the long friendship between Władysława Prucnal and Walentyna Dermacka.
