Krutynia is a 99-kilometer river of Masurian Lake District. It is a famous canoeing route, the route passes through the Piska Forest and the Mazurian Landscape Park. Canoeing along the Krutynia River begins at the water tower in the village of Sorkwity, but ends in Ruciane-Nida.
During the rafting, canoeists swim with beautiful Masurian lakes, including Lake Lampackie, White Lake, Gant, Zyzdrój Wielki, Zyzdrój Mały, Zdrużno, Mokre Lake, Bełdany and Nidzkie Lake.
On the route there are several attractive camping sites, ideal for a rest, eg Island of Love on Lake Zyzdrój Wielki. The trip gives an opportunity to visit in Masurian villages, including: Zgonie, a wooden village with a gallery of human sculptures and Krutynia from the Museum of Warmian Land.
The motif of kayak expeditions along the Krutynia River appears in the literature, for example in Melchior Wańkowicz's reportage entitled "On the Trail of the Smolder".
