The Regional Museum in Opoczno is located in the building of the Kazimierzowski Castle. It presents permanent exhibitions: From the history of the Opoczno region, Opoczno during World War II, Folk sculpture of the Opoczno region, Reconstruction of the interior of the Opoczno cottage and Opoczno folk costume. Educational classes and temporary exhibitions take place here.
The Regional Museum in Opoczno is devoted to the history of the city and the region, its folklore and art. The museum was founded in 1976 in castle rooms. The castle in Opoczno is a building from the 19th century, erected on the site of the ruins of an earlier castle from the second half of the 15th century.
The collections of the Opoczno museum come from the resources of the Opocznianka Folk and Artistic Handicrafts Cooperative, the Municipal Department of Culture and the National Museum in Warsaw and Poznan. Joanna and Wojciech Grzędowski, Mieczysław Włodarski, Marian Ciszewski, Antoni Baran and Stefan Świątek present their folk sculptures here.
