A complex of two railway viaducts in Olsztyn has been included in the list of architectural monuments. Over 20-meter red brick constructions were built at the intersection of the railway track with the Łyna River valley. Since the inception of the viaducts, Olsztyn has become an important railway junction. Both viaducts are still used today. Travelers entering and leaving the city can see from them the Olsztyn panorama.
The northern viaduct was built in the 1870s to enable rail connection from Olsztyn to Czerwonka and Ostróda. The second viaduct - southern was built in the 1890s. Their creation was connected with the expansion of the railway network in East Prussia. Each of the viaducts has three spans, their length is 68 meters, and the width is 6.6 meters. The dates of their construction were placed on the central spans.Less
