St. Anne's Church in Olesno is a wooden building dating back to the beginning of the 16th century. It's a so-called indulgence church built around the pine tree which trunk serves as a support for the main altar to this day. It consists of the late-Gothic figure of the Virgin and Child with Saint Anne, monumental windows shaped as quatrefoils, and the ridge turret. The object was entered into the register of objects of cultural heritage.
The central star-shaped part was added by carpenter Marcin Snopek of Gliwice in the 17th century. It is composed of five Baroque chapels which resemble a rose with five petals - part of the coat of arms of Olesno. Each chapel consists of monuments of sacral art from Baroque, late-Renaissance, and late-Gothic.The church was built in the place of the 14th-century chapel. It's a place of worship of Saint Anne. The trunk of pine tree which supports the altar consists of the monumental inscription referring to a young girl who, according to folk beliefs, was miraculously saved from death thanks to the intercession of Saint Anne. It dates back to 1444.Less
