Museum of Ancient Mettallurgy
Local name: Muzeum Starożytnego Hutnictwa Świętokrzyskiego
The Museum of Ancient Swietokrzyski Steelworks in Nowa Słupia presents rich traditions associated with iron smelting in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. The local exhibitions include fragments of old blast furnaces, metallurgical mills and iron products. The Museum is the co-organizer of one of the largest outdoor events in Świętokrzyskie voivodeship, Świętokrzyskie Dymarek.
The facility in Nowa Słupia is a branch of the Museum of Technology NOT in Warsaw. It is located in a place where a team of over 40 former metallurgical furnaces was discovered, the so-called smokescreeners. The exhibition shows the history of the industrial center in Nowa Słupia, its development and its objects. It also allows you to trace the way in which iron ore deposits have landed and how they were later used.
