Muszyna Regional Museum occupies the building of the former inn included in the court buildings. Established in 2010, the museum presents the modern exhibition dedicated to the history of Muszyna as a capital city of the state of Kraków Bishops, folk culture of the local people, the reconstructed Lemko kitchen, and pieces of unprofessional art including two works by Nikifor.
Since 1958, the museum was located in the former inn situated at the foot of Baszta by the Poprad. Because of dampness and bad technical condition of the building, it was dismantled, dried, and built again in different place. It was also then when the new exhibition dedicated to the history of Muszyna and its ethnographic groups was made. The exhibition is divided into thematic parts. It starts with the presentation of the history of Muszyna which consists of everyday objects, townsman clothes, and also documents and drawings depicting the city. The next part contains expositions dedicated to Muszyna Jews and Lemkos inhabiting neighboring cities. The last part shows pieces of unprofessional art such as paintings, sculptures, and ceramic made by artists related to the Beskids.Less
