Regional Museum

Local name: Muzeum Regionalne

The headquarters of the Regional Museum in Mielec has been the historic Oborscy palace since 2001. The rich museum collections have been gathered in the departments of history, archives, art, archeology and ethnography. Most of the exhibits present the history of the city and the region.

The exhibitions present Judaica, military items, numismatic items and items related to scouting and education. There are also works of local artists, interiors of bourgeois houses, everyday objects, costumes, photographs and valuable documents dating back to Old Polish times.

The residence gained its present shape at the beginning of the 20th century, when Count Oborski, with the help of architect Kazimierz Hołubowicz, extended the former 18th-century manor house. The eclectic building is a perfect example of the so-called villa in the garden. It is surrounded by a beautiful landscape park encouraging to walks and relax.

The museum, existing since 1978, conducts educational and publishing activities. The facility's branch is the Jadernówka villa, where you can see a unique exhibition devoted to photography.
