Gosań hill 93 m
Local name: Góra Gosań 95 m n.p.m.
Measuring 93.4 meters, the Gosań Mountain is the highest elevation on the Polish coast. It is located on the island of Wolin, right next to the sea. The Gosań Mountain is one of the four viewpoints of the Wolin National Park. From the top there is a view of the Pomeranian Bay, Międzyzdroje, Świnoujście and the German town of Ahlbeck. There are also remains of a bunker and an artillery observation tower.
The entrance to the path leading to the viewpoint is located at the national road No. 102, and the path leading from the road to the top is about 400 meters long. In the near distance there is also the highest peak on the island, Grzywacz, measuring 115.9 m above sea level. An interesting fact is that the mountain received the official Polish name only in 1949. Earlier, it operated under the name Gosan Berg.Less
